HOW TO MAKE ANDROID APPS WITHOUT CODING FOR EVERYONE

An MIt Prof and google's own Mark with other developers have made this awesome platform for everyone to make their own android apps without knowing HTML even. The platform for making apps consist of drag and drop designer, and blocking.
This platform was developed to encourage programming and empowering everyone with programing skills. Since the smart phone market is made up primarily of android powered phones I encourage everyone to try their hands on it.

MY SIMPLE GUIDE AND RESOURCE HELP

  1. To log in to the page, you will need a google account. Get one here .
  2. Click on Start new project and give it a project name which will be your apps name.
  3.  This screen will show up... the upper right side show the type of build you are in(designer/blocks).
  4.   The designer is for designing the UI of the app. The Blocks part is for designing how the app behaves.
  5. The components are drag and drop. Did this small app for this blog with it. Download on google drive here

 TESTING YOUR APP

There are different ways to test your apps while they are still in development.

1. Using Your app in real Time on your android device while making by sharing on same wifi. Download MIT AI2 COMPANION tool from playstore or here.
Connect both your pc and your mobile device on the same WiFi. Click on connect and choose the Ai companion. open the ai companion app on you android device and scan the bar code, if the camera of your phone is damaged then input the values show in the browser and tap on connect. The interface of the app you are creating should manifest on your phone's screen in no time.

2. USB

3. EMULATOR

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE APP

There is no sense in providing you with the opportunity to make apps and not be able to share or use.

Click on Build and choose App(provide QR code for ap). This is more safer to use because save to computer option never worked for me.
Open QR code scanner on your computer or download one from playstore to use. Note that UCBrowser has QR code in the tools section.
Upon scanning the code, your default downloader with start downloading the app to your phone. Install when it is down.

WHERE TO GET TUTORIALS

MIT is providing tutorial on how to use the AI2. These are links to tutorials provided by MIT and some I deem also good.

  1. http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/tutorials.html
  2. http://www.appinventor.org/content/CourseInABox/Intro
  3. https://www.youtube.com/user/mitappinventor

Since the app inventor works like scratch, then to dive deeper one should also learn scratch.
scratch uses same technique and since this was derived from scratch it seems only good to also understand it.

  2. https://www.edx.org/course/programming-scratch-harveymuddx-cs002x-1
  3. https://scratch.mit.edu/help/

This Google MIT project will help lots of people join the coding sect and live.
Kindly know that though scratch was designed with kids in mind it is also perfect for beginners to learn programming with it.
    Kindly share and have fun.
